Jimmy D

Classically trained-French chef Jimmy Duggan left the glamour of Los Angeles and Napa Valley to open Jimmy D's East Coast Café in Lexington.

Located at 1395 West Main Street, it's reminiscent of the East Coast deli he remembers from his childhood.
"I worked in a deli when I was a kid," he said. "It's always in your soul. Now that I'm middle-aged, I want to make a living and have a life. I've done the Hollywood fancy thing."
Duggan and his wife, Christine Markert, are making meatballs using his mother's recipe, and Markert's family recipe for marinara.
"We cook our own roast beef and make Reubens the way they do back east on a flat-top grill, and we have authentic cheese steak from Philadelphia,".

The deli is open 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mon through Fri and Sat 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. serving lunch. Call (859) 246-1708.
